How to measure your dog for a harness

Get ready. Use a soft measuring tape with your dog standing naturally. If you use string, measure it against a ruler afterwards.
Measure the neck. Wrap the tape around the base of the neck where the harness sits. Leave room for two fingers and note the measurement in cm.
Measure the chest. Wrap the tape around the widest ribcage, just behind the front legs. Keep it level, leave room for two fingers and note the cm.
Check both numbers. Choose a size whose neck and chest ranges both fit your dog. If you’re unsure, ask us for help.
Buckle and adjust. Check that two fingers slide comfortably under the neck and chest straps. The fit should be snug, without digging in, loose gaps or rubbing.
Try a few steps. In a secure space, check that your dog moves freely without slipping out of the harness. Recheck the fit after adjusting.
